The best Thanksgiving appetizers that my family and friends love! Find classics like deviled eggs and stuffed mushrooms along with a variety of dips that you can make ahead of time.

Thanksgiving appetizer featuring a baked brie with cranberry.

I love Thanksgiving appetizers nearly as much as Thanksgiving sides. And if you’re family is anything like mine, we like to mingle, congregate, and nibble for quite a while before dinner ever gets served. That means having a few options of dips, finger foods, and munchies is key to tiding everyone over for a few hours before the turkey main event. So, I’ve rounded up my favorite Thanksgiving appetizers below—check them out if you’re in need of tasty holiday ideas!

Deviled eggs on a white plate.

Deviled Eggs: The number one Thanksgiving appetizer every single year! This recipe is always a hit, and it’s easy to prep ahead of time as well.

Stuffed mushrooms on a plate.

Stuffed Mushrooms: It’s so easy to pop these little bites into your mouth. The cheesy, herby, and garlicky filling is always a hit with guests. Bonus—they’re a naturally gluten-free Thanksgiving recipe!

Charcuterie board idea.

Charcuterie Board: This fall-inspired charcuterie board is PERFECT for Thanksgiving! It’s incredibly easy to assemble with plenty of room for customization. Have fun with different cheeses, meats, jams, little nibbles, and more.

French onion dip.

French Onion Dip: Once you make this dip at home, you’ll never buy it from the store again, because the flavor doesn’t compare one bit. The fresh, caramelized onions make all the difference!

Smoked salmon cheese ball with crackers.

Smoked Salmon Cheese Ball: This has been my mom’s contribution to the Thanksgiving appetizer table since I was a kid. It’s creamy, savory, and smoky, and perfectly served with an assortment of crackers or veggie slices.

A bowl of homemade hummus next to a napkin

Hummus: A classic garlic hummus is a mainstay holiday appetizer. But if you’d like to switch up the flavor, I have several to choose from, including red pepper hummus and roasted carrot hummus (both with orange-ish colors fun for Thanksgiving!).

Scooping into a crab dip.

Crab Dip: This elevated dip is a family favorite for Thanksgiving. Make it ahead of time and then serve it warm for those oozy cheese pulls with crackers!

A plate of jalapeñopoppers.

Jalapeno Poppers: They’re the best party appetizer with an oozy cheesy filling, crispy bacon bits and fresh chives. You can also make them ahead of time and pop them in the oven right before guests arrive!

Melty baked brie with cranberry sauce.

Cranberry Baked Brie: While cranberry sauce might be part of the Thanksgiving main event, you can get your family and friends excited for what’s to come with this festive baked brie appetizer.

Creamy black bean dip with tortilla chips.

Black Bean Dip: I’m always a fan of anything I can scoop with tortilla chips. Plus, my black bean dip and white bean dip are great dairy-free dip options.

A platter of antipasto skewers for the best appetizer.

Antipasto Skewers: My favorite appetizer to pick up and put on a party plate! It’s light, fresh, and offsets other indulgences, like oh, Thanksgiving desserts.

  1. Appetizers are my favorite part of the Thanksgiving get together offerings! So many flavors and textures to choose from. I have always loved the Deviled Eggs and Stuffed Mushrooms but the Poppers and Baked Brie always have me going back for more too. I always have to remind myself to leave room for the turkey.5 stars
